The coaching offered at the IBA will be of the highest standard available in the UK. The Academy Director and Head Coach, Nick Drane is a national championship winning coach and is one of the leading junior development coaches in the country; a Level 3 Advanced Coach with years of experience coaching within the National Teams Programmes, as well as a Head Coach at Regional and National League level. Coaching sessions will be tailored to the individual student and timetabled around their academic studies. Sessions will take place on an almost daily basis, with in a mix of group and one-to-one coaching to develop individual as well as team skills.

Coach Drane is a two time winner of the Suffolk Sport Coach of the Year award and has been shortlisted for the UK Coach of the Year Award establishing him as not only one of the country’s leading basketball coaches but also one of the best coaches of any sport working at junior level.

IBA Coaching Programme
Players receive around fifteen hours of contact time per week with the coaching staff at the IBA. Daily shooting sessions as well as two team practices and two individual session are guaranteed each week as well as strength and conditioning sessions in the fitness suite. Players also receive further individual sessions time-tabled around their academic programme on the understanding that they are on top of their studies.
